Okay, now how about some specific responsibilities?

Reporting to the CFO you will be involved in all aspects of the Finance and Accounting function in a part-time capacity (3 days a week). This includes:

• Accounts receivable: Liaising with Sales, Customer Success and Operations functions to assist with Salesforce sales contract reporting, generate customer invoices and following through to collection. Includes coordinating with Customer accounts departments to help billing requirements.
• Accounts Payable: Coordinate our external Bookkeepers to manage our accounts payable function and payruns, including staff T&E reimbursement process.
• Payroll: Manage the payroll function with our external providers, review payroll and coordinate statutory payroll filings (e.g. Super, Payroll Taxes, Pension Filings, etc..). Includes supporting employee Onboarding & Offboarding activities.
• Banking and Cash Flow: Be responsible for regular cash flow reporting to the CFO. Manage our multi-currency Airwallex accounts for payments and collections.
• Reporting: Prepare monthly accounts, consolidation reporting, perform month end reconciliations, responsible for GL accounting.
• Compliance: Liaising with external accountants to complete our global annual Company accounts and tax filings (currently AU, US and UK).
• Insurance: managing insurance compliance and renewals with brokers, including business, workcover etc.
• Process Improvement: using experience gained in previous roles, looking to identify areas for process improvement and being a leader to drive change.
• There is also opportunity to be involved in commercial activities such as tracking sales performance, budget variances and reviewing operational business metrics.

What awesomeness will you bring?

• Hold a degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce or have experience working in a similar capacity
• CPA or CA qualified or similar post graduate qualification
• Prior experience working in a SaaS business is desirable
• An understanding of the Australian and UK statutory obligations e.g. Australia, US and UK Tax and accounting filings, payroll obligations, Insurances, etc
• Have good technical accounting experience and proficiency in financial reporting
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and experience with Google sheets
• Advanced experience with Xero, Salesforce and Employment Hero (or similar payroll / HRIS platform) experience helpful, but not a requirement
• Impeccable attention to detail and the ability to ask when unsure
• Be a self-starter as we work as part of a Hybrid team environment
